Northern Riverina submit Youth Girls team

The Northern Riverina Football League has submitted a team for the 2018 SWJFNL Youth Girls Competition. 2018 will be the second year for the successful competition.

The team will be coached by experienced Ungarie footballer Mark Bryant and managed by Lake Cargelligo’s Scott Golding.

The Northern Riverina’s aim is to have representation from each club, “We are hopeful that we will have all clubs in the Northern Riverina represented in this team” Golding said.

“Over the past few years, we have had girls in almost all of our junior NRFL teams, so the interested is definitely there.”

The Northern Riverina Youth Girls will play in the league colours, black with a red sash.

Last year saw over 100 girls participate in the history making competition. MIA Development Coordinator, Ché Jenkins said it’s exciting to see the Northern Riverina enter the competition. “With such a rich footballing history it is fantastic to see the Northern Riverina communities throwing their weight behind this initiative. With a handful of local girls playing in the 2017 competition we’re rapt to welcome them back in a team of their own.”
